Sludge Digester Plant

DESIGN CRITERIA:

To replace existing unsafe access stairs to inspection area of 30ft high 2000gallon sludge tank.

SCOPE OF SUPPLY:

Assess existing access stairs and after identifying areas of weakness in the construction and safety of use, design new free standing 8 metre high access tower avoiding using structure of tank for support.

Designed in a multi-flight configuration the solution consists of two free standing towers fixed to the concrete base, joined by 4 flights of stairs using 34/100 mild steel openwork stair treads and three 34/100 openwork landing stages with tubular handrails throughout.

The whole assembly is galvanised to BS EN 1SO 1481 whilst the openwork complies with BS EN ISO 14122 Part 1-3 2001.
